The photo series for this issue of Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam was shot at the Le Thu Guillon family estate in Luberon, Southern France. Having returned to France with her husband, Mr. Jean-Marcel Guillon, in June, their family remains "stuck" and unable to return to Vietnam. However, that has not stopped them from directly managing FV Hospital. FV Hospital is one of the facilities actively participating in the race against Covid-19 in Ho Chi Minh City. They have vaccinated and treated tens of thousands of city residents during this critical battle.

Overflowing Enthusiasm

Our conversation took place online. Quarter of the earth away, I could still clearly feel the intense and fiery personality of Le Thu Guillon. Le Thu says she “knows her keywords by heart. That is living with passion, loving with all my heart, and always smiling at everything.”

This principle follows her into every nook and cranny of life. Le Thu infuses love and passion into everything she does. From flower arranging, decorating the house, preparing meals, and caring for loved ones, to playing sports and even when in love. Each piece of life forms a "Lady Sexy," her intimate nickname.

Family Piece

To Le Thu, love is the source of life. It is impossible not to mention the love story between her and her husband, Dr. Jean-Marcel Guillon, CEO of FV Hospital. Both are life partners, lovers, and perfect collaborators at work.

What is her secret to keeping the marriage flame alive? Ms. Le Thu reveals:

“We learn how to understand, love, and accept each other in work and life over time, with the motto of not being afraid of conflict. We enjoy comradeship, friendship, love, and harmony every day. At FV, he is the Boss, no questions asked and no exceptions. Outside of FV, he is a life partner, a teacher, a mentor. Sometimes, he is even like a father or an older brother to me.”

Le Thu's fulfilled marriage also includes the presence of two "little masters," Léo and Enzo. Busy as she is, she still makes time for her children and frequently cooks in the kitchen. She says, “Being human, living healthily, working, caring for and loving others is an immense blessing. There are priorities Le Thu never skips or avoids. That is exercising, cooking, and taking care of the family.” 

Career Piece

As the Director of Communication and Marketing at FV Hospital, having joined and dedicated herself for over 16 years, Le Thu knows "every corner, every table and chair, equipment, and office of every doctor" by heart. She says proudly: "Even if my work-from-home office is half a world away, if I close my eyes, I can draw FV Hospital with every vivid detail."

Participating in the fight against Covid-19, FV actively responded to the Department of Health's call to treat patients and vaccinate the community. Le Thu says: “Everything happened at a dizzying speed. We had to reorganize the team, buy more machinery, and prepare enough medicine and consumables. Staff had to study documents while learning on the job to access knowledge on treating Covid-19 patients.”

She established a highly scientific and flawless infection control process at FV Hospital. From patient registration to vaccination and patient information management, everything is done strictly. She actively participated in finding vaccine sources because she understands, "vaccines play a key role in this battle against Covid." This work is very difficult. Many times stress made her falter, but then she restrained herself and pushed forward, because patients were needing her and the doctors at FV Hospital.

Managing everything remotely increases the difficulty tenfold. However, the enormous workload has never made her weary. “I just do things according to priority. If I have to stay up late or wake up early, it's fine. At the end of the week or the end of a project, I can treat myself to some sleep-in sessions.” 

Fashion Piece

Her husband calls Le Thu "Lady Sexy." She calls her husband "Mr Crazy." Love was the inspiration for her to establish the brand Mr Crazy & Lady Sexy, satisfying her passion for fashion.

She believes: “Any woman can be a Lady Sexy in the eyes of the Mr Crazy in her life. You will be more beautiful if you know how to choose the right outfit for any time and any place. Thus, Mr Crazy & Lady Sexy was born… right in the eye of the Covid-19 storm.” The businesswoman loves elegance and freedom and does not frame herself in one specific fashion style. She particularly likes collecting hats and shoes.

So, does Le Thu have a favorite fashion accessory? She laughs loudly and reveals: “It's not just one item. But my favorite accessory is the Louis Vuitton trunk. This is an item I had to get at all costs to take a photo like Marilyn Monroe during our trip on the Orient Express train from Paris to Venice.”
