LỆ THU VÀ HÀNH TRÌNH BƯỚC VÀO LÀNG THỜI TRANG VỚI NIỀM TIN MÃNH LIỆT VÀO NỘI LỰC CỦA PHÁI ĐẸP
First appearing at "Vietnam International Fashion Week 2020" (VIFW), the fashion brand of entrepreneur Le Thu made an impressive debut by successfully spreading a message of female empowerment alongside beautiful ready-to-wear designs. Closing the show for "Mr Crazy & Lady Sexy," she danced an enchanting Tango with the message: “I want to tell everyone that at any age, I can still do what I love, and dancing is one of those things. There is no principle that mandates we must rest at a certain age.” This explains why Le Thu, who has been known as the Marketing & Business Development Director of a hospital for the past 15 years, has unexpectedly ventured into the challenging field of fashion.

“Mr Crazy & Lady Sexy”: Difference without losing touch with reality
You revealed that "Mr Crazy" is how you call your husband, and "Lady Sexy" is the affectionate term he uses for you. Is this the inspiration for everything?
That is part of it. But the deeper meaning is that "Lady Sexy" refers to an independent, confident woman who knows how to choose fashion to enhance her beauty, rather than implying a body with perfect curves. A "Crazy" man is someone who approaches everything in life with passion, persistence, and resilience. "Lady Sexy" and "Mr Crazy" understand each other's values, admire one another, and enjoy life together. And that is how I view fashion: it must enter into life and brighten up that everyday world.
The decision to "join hands" with names who had been absent from the catwalk, such as supermodel Duc Hai, supermodel Truong Ngoc Anh, and Miss Ao Dai runner-up Chung Vu Thanh Uyen; this must have been a very deliberate choice on your part?
What common thread do you see in these three figures? To me, they are all famous names in the entertainment industry, but instead of shrinking back, they have boldly challenged themselves in many other fields and continue to affirm their worth. Duc Hai and Chung Vu Thanh Uyen are very successful in business; as for Truong Ngoc Anh, it goes without saying—she is not only acclaimed for her impressive films but is also a renowned film producer. Through this, I want to tell those who choose my brand that no matter who you are or what your age is, never limit yourself. You are always "young" at heart and "young" in your mindset.
Ready-to-wear is the strength of many Vietnamese fashion houses; what makes you confident that the first collection launched by "Mr Crazy & Lady Sexy" at VIFW will stand out?
I am creating designs that offer the wearer a suitable choice, rather than chasing any specific style or trend. I am not a fashion designer (designer), but a marketer. Vietnam has many talented designers, but they seem to lack one piece to create a distinct mark—building a brand to develop broadly in domestic and international markets. Besides seeing that potential, I also have the advantage of holding many relationships in both domestic and international markets.
Your fashion has many choices, but in essence, what is the core guiding your creative spirit?
It is elegance. This is reflected in cuts that are daring yet subtle enough to be worn in any situation. The fabrics and sewing techniques must also be able to suit diverse figures so that whether the wearer is tall, short, thin, or curvy, they can easily find an outfit they like.
The fear of failure is not in my dictionary. If I do something, I must pursue it to the end
As the Marketing & Business Development Director of a hospital, you unexpectedly stepped into the field of fashion. Was this an intention you had been nurturing for a long time or an impulse?
That moment was created by passion, impulse, and opportunity. I have loved fashion for a long time and have always cherished the idea of doing something for myself. I thought I would only work at the hospital for 2 years, but it has been 15 years now, so if not now, then never. I not only have faith in my passion but also the ambition to prove myself. Honestly, I have a strong personality. If I like something, I will do it no matter what. No one can stop me (laughs).
Honestly, are you afraid that you will fail?
Whatever I do, I never think about failure; I only think about how to succeed. The path I chose is certainly fraught with difficulties because my "child" is still very new, but I still do it, and once I start, I will pursue it to the end.
I find the best and most suitable partners who understand my vision, share the same direction, and even have the same taste. Many people support me unconditionally because they like my ideas, and I am truly grateful for that.
Facing the decision to enter this challenging new field, your partner's support must be very meaningful to you?
He often compliments me, and sometimes he does not hesitate to give me timely feedback, such as: "These cumbersome outfits are not suitable for the petite figures of Vietnamese women; they are only suitable for models." Or sometimes I am overwhelmed with work and don't have time to cook, and my husband humorously says: "Don't worry, I'm on a diet. A diet to look good, waiting for the day to attend your show." The encouragement of a partner is very important; it doesn't have to be significant financial support, but rather sympathy, support, watching over me, being ready to give advice, and never sparing words of praise.
15 years is a turning point; how have your inner strength and inspiration been nurtured?
It can be said that reading is one of the habits that helps me refresh myself and constantly motivates me to move forward. I like books that revolve around everyday life because from them I draw valuable lessons that are not detached from reality. Specifically, for example, nothing in life is absolute; no one is absolutely happy or absolutely successful; and a woman's inner strength is very powerful.
